Nobody likes nonsense huge abruptly worded free-help pages, so we will keep this short, easy to read and of course 99% fat free.
How many people do you know who are in the act of succeeding by impacting not only themselves, but those around them positively? Not many? Well, that's normal. If you want to have the ability to one day have the choice of what you want to do with your day, who with and where, then these habits really will benefit you. If you want to be impactful, then it's best to learn first how to impact yourself. Here are 5 tips that may change your whole world (if you take the action) and potentially allow you to be a better version of 'you'. You 2.0!
Disclaimer: patience, hard work, commitment and a big dream is needed!
1. READ. And i don't mean any old book with a cat in a hat (although great). The books you should focus on is self help books such as ones written by John Maxwell, Robert Kiyosaki and Stephen R. Covey. There are some exceptional books that will allow you to have a 180 degree turn on how you view day-to-day life. Give it your best for 90 days.
2. ASSOCIATION. Yes, the people you spend time with, do inevitably depict your future. Do you think Tiger Woods went out on Friday nights for a binge? He spent time with like minded people. He has a coach to this day on speed dial. Before you listen to someone on who to hang out with, ask yourself this question "would I put my self in this persons shoes? Job, family, stress and all?" If that is a no, better get out looking for someone else, people with the fruit on the tree that YOU want. Remember: if you want lemon juice, then stop picking at the apple tree! Move along...
3. AFFIRMATIONS. Described as 'the action or process of affirming something'. Best way to understand it is, your WORDS. The words you say to yourself daily, do you listen to them? What you say to yourself is powerful beyond measure, so change up that lingo to something more positive and motivating. "I will not be denied", "I am happy and positive", "I look amazing!", "I love people unconditionally" etc. Tip: write down 10 positive affirmations and read this to yourself aloud twice a day. Make sure to avoid words like one day, soon, eventually and others as so. Say affirmations as if you have what it is you are saying. Here, I will give you 120 seconds to write at least one down.
4. WHAT YOU WATCH. Rather simple, as you scroll through your social media, there seems to be a lot of negativity and news. Your saviour: unfollow or better yet, delete. Follow motivating pages and people in the act of accomplishing in their lives. Moreover, surround yourself with motivating photos like your dream home or destination, affirmations posted on your house walls and perhaps even a personal dream board (make it stylish!). Listen to self motivating audios. Many videos are out there to motivate you! You just need to be intentional about listening to them.
5. STAY FIT AND ACTIVE. Some of you didn't see this coming. Staying active is a no brainer if you want to create positive habits for success in your life. It doesn't need to be all blood sweat and tears, even a 30 minute walk everyday is proven to have many health benefits. For those of you willing to really push yourself, workout consistently 2-5 times a week. Have a weekly schedule that you can honour. This will take some adjusting to and trial and error, though once you get into it for at least 30 days, you will never look back.
Implement these habits within your daily life for at least 30 days starting TODAY. Make adjustments every week if necessary. Keep yourself in your stretch zone and away from being too comfortable or too panicked.
